Lucas and Morgan Duran

In November of 2018, the Lord revealed to Lucas the purpose behind every military order, specialized degree, injury and disappointment he endured up until that point in his life. With a fiery desire to bring the gospel to the ends of the earth as instructed in Matthew 28, Lucas knew there was something greater in store after countless failed attempts to make the Great Commission come to life on his own. Shortly after receiving the vision for Roots for Life Mission Corporation, Lucas met Morgan; the woman who would soon be his wife and partner in cultivating the seed placed on his heart.

This cultivation led to one of many meetings to come after seeking wise counsel, including the Mission Director from The Church of Eleven22 at Lucas and Morgan’s home church in Jacksonville, Florida. Within the next year, Roots for Life Mission Corporation, developed a clear vision with God’s direction and the right people to help make it all possible. The call to obedience was clear: To simply say “Yes” to go where they had never gone before, use the gifts they had been given, and allow God to do the pruning along the way. The idea of “unreached people groups” across the world was heart breaking to Lucas and Morgan early in their research of what it meant to be a missionary and that’s when they were drawn to the country of Chad in north-central Africa.
