Deepening Questions

Paul is perplexed and concerned for the Galatians because they keep returning to their old ways of life. He pleads with them to remember the gospel and stop putting on their grave clothes again. They are no longer slaves but are free! The gospel not only justifies but also sanctifies and Paul is in anguish over their return to bondage.

  • What does Paul’s tone and plea reveal about his heart for the Galatians?
  • What old ways of life are you prone to return to? Why?

Prayer

Lord, help me please, I am prone to wander. I forget the gospel daily and in my flesh, I return to being enslaved to sin. In my weakness make your strength evident and forge in me a clean heart. Amen.
