Family Advent Devotional 2025

January 5, 2026

Week 5 devotional graphic featuring a starburst design with the text "SIMEON: ALL MY LIFE YOU HAVE BEEN FAITHFUL," emphasizing themes of trust and faithfulness during Advent.

Theme: Trusting God’s promises
Read: Luke 2:25–32; Jude 24–25

Opening Thought (read out loud)

Simeon waited his whole life to see God’s promise fulfilled—and one day, he held baby Jesus in his arms. God was faithful, just as He said He would be.

In a world that rushes everything, Simeon reminds us that God’s timing is perfect. Waiting is never wasted when our trust is in Him. As we finish Advent and begin a new year, we can rest knowing that the same God who kept His promise then is faithful now.

Family Discussion

• How do you think Simeon felt when he finally saw Jesus?

• What’s something you’ve had to wait for? What did God teach you through it?

• How have you seen God’s faithfulness in our family this year?

Do Together

Pick one promise from God’s Word that your family wants to hold onto in the coming year—like Philippians 4:6–7 (peace), Isaiah 40:31 (strength) or Romans 8:28 (purpose). Write it down and post it somewhere visible.

Pray together: “God, thank You for being faithful in every season. Help us trust You in the year ahead.”
