Family Advent Devotional 2025

December 22, 2025

Theme: Worship through giving and gratitude
Read: Matthew 2:1–12; Romans 12:1–2

Opening Thought (read out loud)

The Magi traveled far to find Jesus. They brought gifts worthy of a King—gold, frankincense and myrrh. Their long journey showed that worship costs something.

True worship isn’t just singing; it’s giving God our best—our time, our love, our obedience. When we give, we’re saying, “God, You’re worth it.”

At Christmas, we give gifts because God gave first—He gave us Jesus.

Family Discussion

• What do you think it cost the Magi to make their trip to see Jesus?

• What are some ways our family can “give” to God this season—not just with money, but with our hearts?

• What’s something you’re thankful to God for this Christmas?

Do Together

Start a new family tradition! Have each person write a short note of gratitude and encouragement to every other family member. You can include them with gifts or read them out loud together.

Remind your family: the best gifts don’t come from a store—they come from a heart that knows Jesus.
