Family Advent Devotional 2025
December 7, 2025

Theme: Passing faith to the next generation
Read: Deuteronomy 6:4–9; 20–25
Opening Thought (read out loud)
God’s design has always been for parents to lead their children in faith. Long before Christmas morning, God told His people to talk about His ways—when they sit at home, walk along the road and lie down at night. Joseph modeled this same kind of faith: quiet obedience, steady trust and a willingness to follow God’s direction even when life was confusing.
Family Discussion
• What are some things our family talks about a lot? What do we not talk about much?
• When was a time you saw God answer a prayer or show His faithfulness in your life?
• What’s one small way we can talk more about God at home this week?
Do Together
Share your story. Take time this week to tell your family how you came to trust Jesus—or a story of when God showed up for you. It doesn’t need to be fancy or long. Like the man in John 9:25, you can simply say, “I was blind, and now I see.”
If you have young kids, keep it simple and full of hope: “I’ve seen how God helps me when I’m scared,” or “God showed me how much He loves me.”
End your time by praying together and thanking God for being faithful to your family.
