Love never ceases. It’s not the fleeting affection of a fifteen-year-old’s first crush, but the eternal love of the heavenly Father—endless, constant and enduring through all circumstances.
The things Paul listed about love were the very things he saw the church get wrong. They were impatient, unkind, envious, boastful, proud, rude, irritable, resentful, untruthful and self-absorbed.
“Love” in this chapter is agape love. Agape love is a sacrificial, unconditional, selfless love. One of the Greek definitions is “the highest form of love.”
