Help us create birthday boxes for the adults with intellectual and developmental differences living in our group homes. These boxes will be used when someone is celebrating a birthday to brighten up their special day.

City Rescue Mission

Donate items to families, men, women and children in Homes of Hope and Overcomers shelter programs

Items Needed
Recommended items in support of the Homes of Hope: Box sets of dishes, box sets of glassware or plasticware, box sets of silverware, box sets of cooking utensils, shower curtain, shower curtain rings, bathmat, coffee maker, box set of coffee mugs. We are also always in need of towels/washcloths and queen sheet sets (any color).

Serve Opportunity
Create a baby layette set for clients facing an unplanned pregnancy. They go through an "Earn While You Learn" program where they can earn baby items. Our baby layettes are assembled as one of the items a woman can earn with her points.

Create a "New Believers Bag" for clients facing an unplanned pregnancy who have accepted Christ for the first time or who are deepening their walk with Christ but do not have an easy to read Bible at home.

Items Needed
New Bible that is easy to read like NIV or ESV, Journal, Devotional, Highlighters, Candy, Fuzzy Socks, and Pens all in a bag that can be given to a client. Please include a handwritten personal note. Better Together

Serve Opportunity
Create Hope Packs, which are child-size backpacks filled with necessities and niceties to help children in need ease into a short-term stay with a host family while their parents work to improve their situation. These are for all children ranging from ages infant to teenagers. We host kids of all ages, so having a variety of Hope Packs is great! These can be made according to age and gender.

Serve Opportunity
Make small goodie bags for case worker appreciation and write letters of thanks for case workers. Decorate bag tags to go on duffle bags that we pack for children entering foster care and write cards/draw pictures to be packed into their duffle bags. Make beaded bracelets to hand out at lemonade stands or pack in bags. Fill backpacks with needed items for children (clothing, shoes, toys, gift cards, etc).

HerSong Meals

Each year, HerSong reaches hundreds of women who are victims of trafficking. We can help by providing meals for these women as they are entering a new phase of life. HerSong is asking for freezer meals for the safe homes. Meals should be placed in disposable aluminum pans and marked with the date prepared, content information (i.e. Lasagna, Chicken and Rice Casserole), baking time and temperature. Join us as we bless our community with a drive-thru food drive located at the Regency Square Mall (Food-Court side). This event takes place every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month.

Serving the homeless population at Jax Beach one meal a day, they are seeking volunteers to make box lunches and drop them off to Mission House before noon on Mondays - Saturdays.

Serve local foster families by providing freezer meals. Hadassah's Hope is a gospel-centered ministry reaching women working in strip clubs in and around Jacksonville, Florida. Hadassah's Hope is committed to ministering to women right where they are and pointing them to Jesus, who is our only hope. You can volunteer in many ways such as writing encouraging notes, providing meals, visiting the clubs and praying for the women there.

If you are passionate about seeing more women empowered to choose life for their unborn babies, we encourage you to connect with First Coast Women's Services!

You can plan a serve day to clean a center, participate in a baby bottle drive to raise funds, plan a baby shower to provide much-needed material support to the clients of the centers, assemble new believer bags or create baby layette sets. There are so many opportunities to serve both on-site and off-site. FCWS has centers in Baker, Jax Beach, Clay, Mandarin and North Jax.

Partner with us to serve with Beaches Council on Aging during the week as a Volunteer Friendly Caller! The Volunteer Friendly Caller's purpose is to enhance the quality of life of the DIAL A RIDE seniors through supportive, friendly telephone calls to those who may be isolated or lonely.
