The 2023 Women’s Encounter is a weekend away to unplug and deepen your relationship with Jesus. We invite you to join us as we talk about the heart of Christ, expand our thinking about God, and deepen our faith in Him. The weekend will be full of learning, connecting with other believers, and unplugging from your normal routine to focus on God.

This Encounter is led by real, authentic women who are not trying to prove anything but rather sit in the presence of the Lord together with other believers. We will have time of worship through singing, learning about God’s character through His Word and discussing how we can walk in the freedom Christ purchased for us. We will laugh, eat, rest and connect with God and others. We hope you will join us!

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can attend?
Any woman age 18 or older (some exceptions apply to mothers and teenage daughters). Whether you are new to the church, to the faith, or have been following God for a long time we want you there! 

Why are the room prices different?
This year we are trying something new. We have a tiered price in hopes that more women are able to attend. The $450 room is for a single occupant and will be in a hotel room in the Turner Lodge on the water. The $325 room is for double occupants and these rooms will be in the Turner Lodge or the Robertson Inn. The $275 room will be for double occupants staying in the motel-style room in the Pitts/Booth building. Each room will have a mini fridge and microwave.

Can we pick our own roommate?
There will be a space on the form for you to write in the name of your preferred roommate. If you do not have a preferred roommate, we will assign you one. If you want to room 3 or 4 people in one room email Caitlin[email protected] to inquire about prices and accommodations. 

Who is teaching?
Caitlin Armstrong, the Eleven22 Equipping Minister will be teaching the main sessions and there will be several other teachers (staff and lay leaders) leading breakout sessions on various topics. 

When is check-in and check-out? 
Check-in will start at 4pm and dinner will start at 6pm on Friday, October 13. Check-out will be at 11am am on Sunday, October 15. 

What is the food like?
Food will be served in the dining hall and is buffet style. Standard hot breakfast and yogurt bar, sandwiches and salad bar for lunch, and standard meat, veggie, starch dinners. Details on exact meals will be known closer to the Encounter. Vegetarian and gluten-free options will be available. The food does not come from a five-star restaurant but it is good and there are many options.  

What will we be doing at this Encounter?
We will have multiple large group gatherings with worship and teaching, conference-style breakout sessions with various topics to choose from, and free time for you to rest and recharge. You will meet other women from the church and have time to eat together and have some fun! The grounds of Epworth are right on the water. It is a beautiful and peaceful place with a camp-style feel. 

Can I get a refund if I cancel?
The $200 deposit is non-refundable because we have to reserve the hotel room. Payment in full is due by October 1.   

Are scholarships available?
Please fill out the scholarship form to inquire about a partial scholarship. There are limited scholarships available.
